Research Cluster in Cognition and Poetics
University of Osnabrück, Germany
The Research Cluster on Cognition and Poetics at Osnabrück University brings together scholars from various disciplines in humanities, the fine arts and the cognitive sciences to create a unique, innovative and interdisciplinary research and training program in Cognition and Poetics. Members of the Cluster along with international visiting professors regularly offer graduate courses on various aspects of Cognition and Poetics. The Cluster particularly welcomes proposals by students in literature, linguistics, culture, cognitive science, music and art who wish to pursue interdisciplinary Ph.D. projects at Osnabrück University. 

Ph.D. Programme in the Arts and the Humanities

The Planetary Collegium is an international research platform that promotes the integration of art, science, technology, and consciousness research at the doctoral and post-doctoral level. It was established by Roy Ascott at Plymouth University in 2003. The Neue Galerie Luzern – Swiss Academic Association (NGL – SAA) has created a new Node constituted as the NGL-Node of the Collegium. Operating in accordance with the Collegium’s educational profile and its objective to promote knowledge and integration of all aspects of art, society, culture and cognition, the programme attracts scholars from different fields of cultural practice. 

Department of Cognitive Science
Case Western University, USA
The Department of Cognitive Science at CWRU is unique in its focus on human higher-order cognition. Research emphases include the workings of the human mind in multimodal communication, design, art, and technology, the origins of human higher-order cognition, interaction of brain and culture in development and evolution, the role of the body and social interaction in shaping human cognition, and the operation of systems that human beings have invented to guide their thought and action individually and culturally. 

Cognition and Critical Theory
University of Vienna, Austria
Cognitive Critical and Cultural Theory is a program of research at the University of Vienna initiated by Christa Knellwolf King. It responds to the need to rethink the premises of critical and cultural theory which have been challenged by neuroscientific definitions of identity and consciousness. 

The Neuro Humanities Network
University of Catania, Italy
The Neuro Humanities Studies Network aims at creating a multidisciplinary research community in order to develop and structure a linking platform for neuro-scientific, cognitive topics and humanities. 

Institute for Culture and Society
University of Navarra, Spain
The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) is an interdisciplinary research center in the Humanities and Social Sciences, founded by the University of Navarra in 2010. The ICS hosts over 60 researchers from over 17 countries, working on the major challenges of contemporary society, including projects on public discourse, emotional culture and identity, mind and brain, or contemporary art.

The Distributed Little Red Hen Lab™ is a global laboratory and consortium for research into multimodal communication. Its main goal is theory. Its second goal is the development of new computational, statistical, and technical tools to assist research on multimodal communication.
